I want to play Wind Waker on my mac but it seems all the emulators I've. /r/zelda is the hub for anything and everything The Legend of Zelda. Classic rates this game: 5/5 This is where it all started. Most of Link's famous items originated with this title, evolved from this title, or were inspired by this title. Almost all of the franchise elements came from here. Think Zelda like we know today only a little less linear. You could go to almost any dungeon that didn't need a raft and beat it if you were good enough. Visual studio for mac isn't allowing me to open storyboards. Like Zelda today only more emphasis on gameplay. There's a story here, at the title screen. The rest is pure overworld/dungeon crawling bliss. Great variety, not the hardest puzzles, but plenty of them, and Epic bosses. Where do you think the Zelda theme of today came from? You probably already know everything there is about this game already though, so GO DOWNLOAD IT! If you've already beaten it, surely you've beaten the second quest also? James rates this game: 5/5 Welcome to the Legend of Zelda. Where the only sound you'll hear is your own heart pounding as you race through forests, lakes, mountains and dungeonous mazes in an attempt to restore peace to the land of Hyrule. Along the way you'll be challenged by Tektites, Wizzrobes and an endless array of ruthless creatures who'll stop at nothing to prevent you from finding the lost fragments of the Triforce of Wisdom. But don't despair. With a little luck and a lot of courage, you'll conquer your adversaries, unite the Triforce fragments and unravel the mystery of the Legend of Zelda. Thenateman27 rates this game: 5/5 This game began the greatest video game series of all time. Shigeru Miyamoto’s masterful game was an icon when it was first released, and it is an icon now. It represents the start of gaming greatness for me. When it was first in production, the staff knew they were making something unprecedented. It was marketed as a “never-ending” game. Seeing as millions of people have finished the game, I’d say that wasn’t true, but the series has potential to fulfill that initial promise. The game’s Genre was undefined at the time because there was simply nothing quite like it. If you’ve never played, scratch that beaten this game, you owe it to yourself to play this game right now. Like so many of the games released at the time, the premise of the game was quite simple: a princess named Zelda has been captured, and link must save her by collecting the pieces of the triforce. You have to traverse the 8 dungeons of the game to restore the triforce, and then you can defeat Ganon. Once you do, you can save the princess. There are many obstacles and engaging puzzles that make this game a tremendous amount of fun. Not to mention that the “New Game Plus” feature (input the name “ZELDA” at the file selection screen) lets you restart the adventure again with a much harder game. There are so many things that make this a great game and so many things that Zelda series fans will love to see. If you consider yourself a gamer or a fan of the series, this game is a must. Mystic Apprentice rates this game: 5/5 This is without a doubt the best Legend of Zelda, and possibly the best game for the N64, ever made. I had come from playing A Link to the Past before trying out The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and I was amazed. The game play is amazing. You start out as Link as a child, and unlike RPG games, it is all action so it takes more than strategizing to make your way through this game. All the sword fights have to be done by the player, unlike the final fantasy series where you simply choose an attack from the menu. All of the dungeons and towns in Zelda are unique, meaning that it's not the same town over and over again, only with a new name and a different color scheme;) Each place is quite memorable with it's own set of characters and landmark distinctions. It was nice because they incorporated bits of the older Zelda games into this one, yet it was a totally new, refreshing story. Ever wonder how to input Chinese characters into your computer? There are actually several methods for Chinese input, but I want to focus on what I personally find to be the fastest and most widely-used method: Pinyin. Chinese in Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan What's New. There is a new Chinese system font, PingFang, to go along with the new overall system font, San Francisco. Adding Chinese Pinyin Input Methods First, open your System Preferences from the Apple menu. Then, select Language & Region Click the + button under the Preferred languages list. Find 简体中文 - Chinese, Simplified and 繁體中文 - Chinese, Traditional in the list that pops up. Select the one you prefer to use then click Add. You can repeat these last couple steps to add both Simplified and Traditional Chinese input methods if you’d like. After you’ve added your preferred method(s), you will see your preferred input methods in the list on the left. Select Keyboard Preferences near the bottom of the window. Make sure Show Input menu in menu bar is checked (near the bottom of the window) so you can see which input method is currently selected by looking at the menu bar. Switching between input methods Tapping on said menu bar item will reveal the input menu. You can switch back and forth between input methods by selecting the method of choice here. Using keyboard shortcuts to switch between input methods If you’re like me, you don’t like taking your hands off the keyboard while typing. And, when typing, you’ll often need to switch between English and Chinese. So, let’s set up keyboard shortcuts to quickly switch between English and Chinese Pinyin input methods. In the same Keyboard Preferences window, select the Shortcuts tab. Then, select Input Sources in the left column. This will reveal the the option for Select the previous input source. My passport for mac won't connect on my computer but does on my other computer games. Clicking near the right edge of this row will highlight the current shortcut. When highlighted, hold the control key down and press the spacebar. Afterwards, you should see that the shortcut has been set to ^Space. From this point on, you can type control-space to toggle between input methods. You can also hold the control key down and tap space (without letting go of the control key!) to reveal a handle input selector. Note: on Mac OS X Yosemite, the input selector will only appear when using the “Select the previous input source” option and does not appear for the “Select next input source” option. Skype In the in this series, we talked about using the to create Universal Windows Platform (UWP) apps that can run on Windows 10 devices using existing Objective-C code. Our explores using the iOS bridge to bring Storyboards and Auto Layout to Windows 10. This post will focus on getting Xcode and iOS developers familiar with the Visual Studio IDE, whether starting from scratch or using existing code from a source repository, such as GitHub. Modern IDEs, especially those for app development, are becoming very similar. While each may have its own nuances and intricate IDE features, they will all generally offer the same key functionalities. There will be a way to load projects and solutions, lay out controls visually, work with code, and debug with some level of emulation. As a result, once you learn the basics of one IDE, you’ll find you can pretty easily transfer that knowledge to the others. It is no different moving between Xcode and Visual Studio. In fact, the team at the One Dev Minute blog on Channel 9 put together an excellent summary that quickly shows a feature-for-feature comparison when putting together a sample app, though it shows older versions of Visual Studio and Xcode. The first step in working with any IDE is loading up a project. In Visual Studio (click here to get the free edition), the steps are basically the same as starting a project in Xcode. Just point to File → New → Project. In this case, we’ll pick a project template from a list of installed templates, set the application and solution name, and select the directory where the files will be stored: After clicking OK, the template creates a runnable UWP app that compiles and runs but contains no UI or data. We selected the Blank App template above. Are there *any* stats on *any* companies/developers actually embracing this bridge? I am really curious on the adoption of this, as you are competing with 1B *active* iOS devices (as of this week) and are trying to lure them *backwards* onto a platform with only 200M installs. I am trying to understand the value proposition in that and maybe you can explain it in more detail to help a developer out. Conversely (and/or additionally), it really seems you should be listening to your developers and building a bridge *OUT* to other platforms in addition to the (backwards) ones you have already built: You can then charge us for the tooling required to meet both platforms (1.2B in this case when you add both Windows Store and Apple Store ATM), further increasing your bottom line and pleasing those shareholders. Everyone wins, RIGHT??? For those interested in the Apple 1B active device news. FWIW, I believe in Windows 10 and it should definitely be @ 1B by 2018. It would be nice to be able to say that with ONE code base/tool chain you can reach 2B devices (1B Windows, 1B iOS — there are more platforms, but I am trying to keep to the subject matter here, LOL). Finally, on that note, mull on this: imagine if MSFT offers a tech that allows developers to reach 2B users (1B Windows + 1B iOS) in 2018, and Apple only offers tech to only reach 1B users (iOS only), which tech do you think developers (and organizations) are going to gravitate to? Telling you, MSFT: $$$. Make those shareholders happy! Hi Michael (nice name!), thank you for your reply. You ARE correct. If you can use one codebase to reach multiple platforms why not give it a shot? However, I hope you realize the terrific irony (more like tragedy) that we as MSFT developers now have to code in ObjectiveC/iOS to do exactly that. Does this make sense to you? Does it not seem like it would make more sense to have a MSFT technology that enabled one codebase (in.NET) to work on both the Windows Store and the Apple store (and Droid store), maximizing our target reach? These days, many of the games you already own probably have Mac versions available. Some game developers are more cross-platform than others — for example, all of Valve’s own games on Steam and Blizzard’s games on Battle.net support Mac. By • 3:32 pm, July 25, 2012 • Macs can be used for serious gaming, mmmkay? Steam, the online computer gaming portal, keeps track of what hardware its players are using to access the many games in its service. Of interest in the exhaustive list of specs is the fact that 49.46 percent of Mac gamers on Steam game on a Macbook Pro. Which makes sense, of course, as that’s a pretty powerful laptop. From there, we see the iMac coming in at 28 percent, plain-jane MacBooks garnering 9.49 percent, and the MacBook Air, my personal machine, used by 6.29 percent of Mac Steam gamers. The MacBook Pro and MacBook Air both rose in the hardware charts, with an increase of.44 and.89 percent, respectively. Another interesting note is that a 58 percent majority of Mac gamers on Steam have 4 Gb of RAM, while a large minority of 28 percent have 5 Gb or more of RAM memory. I’d have thought that it’d have been switched, of course, as RAM does affect the playability of a great many games, though not as much as the RAM in individual video cards does. Speaking of video cards, there’s a long list of them being used in Macs to play Steam games, with (obviously) Intel HD Graphics and the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M topping the list at 17 and almost 12 percent, respectively. Below those two, however, ATI and NVIDIA cards top the charts all the way down, with nary an Intel card on the list until the bottom. What OS are Mac gamers using to blast aliens and solve puzzles? Mainly Lion (10.7.4 at 49 percent) and Snow Leopard (10.6.8 at 31 percent), of course. Apparently, not a lot of folks are playing games if they’re not updated to the latest OS version. Both those numbers are 64 bit versions, as well. The largest number of Mac Steam gamers are using the standard 2 CPUs, as measured by Valve, with only a few outliers using more. Most of the Mac players have a microphone and most speak English, both of which reflect the larger Steam numbers as a whole. Check out the full report on the, and geek out with us on the or comments below about your own setup and whether you play Steam games on your Mac or not. Feb 07, 2016 Re: WD My Passport for Mac won't mount on my Mac Pro in response to Phyllis Ormsby. HI, I have a some what similar problem. I am afraid the drive is in big trouble. In the middle of copying files, I accidentally unplugged it. Now it WILL NOT MOUNT! It shows up in disk utility and passes verification and repair with flying colors. BUT it won't mount. After unlocking the WD unlocker, my pc won’t recognize my wd passport. This situation happened when I connect my external to other USB3.0 cable, then when I returned it to my own cable, it doesn’t work anymore. After i cannected to my passport wireless dashboard with windows pc and created a password for wifi and it rebooted, i cannot connect to it through wifi with neither my windows pc, nor other devices altough it shows on the wifi list, but doesn’t even ask for password just fails to connect. I can’t access dashboard with my pc aswell (mypassport’s server DNS address could not be found) is the message i get. I’ve also tried to update firmware with an sd card, which doesn’t seem to happen. And i cannot afford to restore it to factory settings all lose all the data i’ve already backed up through the cable. I need help asap as i am on assigment shooting a lot of footage in wilderness for several weeks! So do I, and I have performed a manual reset quite a few times and no data is destroyed, although the MPW needs to be setup again as if it were out of box/new. From user manual: You can perform a system-only reset of your drive two ways: manually and on the dashboard’s Admin page. When the drive resets, your data remains but settings such as your password return to default values. You can perform a system and disk reset on the Admin page. Manually Resetting the Drive For a system only reset, the battery has to have at least a 25% charge. • With the power ON, hold down the Power and WPS buttons at the same time for around 10 seconds until the drive reboots and the Power and Battery Status LED flashes white. • Wait until the Wi-Fi LED is blue before reconnecting. For more info, see complete online manual: 2.21 MB. In device manager, right click on the drive, choose uninstall (including driver). Remove device from usb port, shut down and restart. Once windows is up, plug the drive back into usb and see if windows automatically finds the device and installs drivers. If windows still does not recognize the drive, go and pick your item and download WD's driver. Mark did all that but still to no avail. Uninstalled everything that is not present in the device manager, re-installed the driver, restarted the computer. After i restarted it and plugged in the hard dics, it automatically installs the driver but it doesnt show up in 'my computer' or the device manager. Help me out here please. My PC couldn't detect my passport under the computer letters but was detected under the device manager. So I did as others adviced. 1) Selected the device with the yellow sign and uninstalled it 2) Unplugged my passport for 1 minute and connected it again 3) After my PC detected it automatically reinstalled the drivers 4) Since it still wouldn't appear as a letter, I went ahead and run diskpart 5) It automatically assigned the next available letter on my PC 6) Opened it and all my content was there Be patient and you will find a solution. At least I did. My PC couldn't detect my passport under the computer letters but was detected under the device manager. At least I did. May 26, 2017 - I found my old Macbook a few years back that was on a really old Mac OS. (I think it was snow leopard?) It was old enough that Chrome. For years now, the Chrome browser has reported that it was up to date, even when there was an old copy of the Flash Player embedded in the browser. I mention this now, because Adobe released a new version of the Flash player today, one that, many of them critical. The usual method of forcing a Chrome update (Help -> About Google Chrome) on Windows and OS X/macOS may or may not update Flash. You can, however, force Chrome to update Flash by entering chrome://components in the browser address bar. Look for the Adobe Flash Player in the list of components. Ignore the status. If the version is anything other than 24.0.0.221, it needs to be updated. [ To comment on this story, visit. ] Click on the gray 'Check for Update' button and the update happens in a flash (sorry). If you look closely, the status goes from 'component downloading' to 'update ready' to 'Component updated.' It literally takes a second. If all went well, the version should now be 24.0.0.221. [ ] When, I noted that Flash can not be updated this way on Chrome OS. This is still true. I just checked two Chromebooks. Each was running Chrome OS version 55.0.2883.105 and each claimed that 'Your Chromebook is up to date' despite using Flash version 24.0.0.186 which was. I guess it depends on your definition of 'date'. It is 3:33 pm in Taipei on Saturday 9/14 (3:33 am EDT on Sat morning in US). My Flash plugin says: Adobe Flash Player - Version: 11,8,800,97 Shockwave Flash 11.8 r800) You said at 10:45 am on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2013: 'We are updating Flash Player to version 11.8.800.170 on Windows and Mac via our component update system (i.e. There will not be a Chrome update).' OK, where is it? Anthony, it is time for you to 'man up' and respond to us. Thanks, Jerry. Just wanted to add my voice to the others as this has been a frustrating experience. Announcing a Flash Update and then almost one week later it hasn't been delivered is quite upsetting. If there were security issues you basically are letting all the hackers know that Chrome is vulnerable through that component. A one or two day delay would be fine, but this long is just not right. In researching the issue, I stumbled across some interesting information, so hopefully in the future the problem we are now experiencing will be a mute point. |
